Location: Falmouth, Cornwall
Picnic Cornwall is a small independent coffee shop, deli and hamper service, located in the heart of Falmouth. Working to enhance the brand through the look and feel of the interior and shopfront, we designed the store in a way so that Picnic could tell the customer their story. Working with the local producers, we developed a large scale illustrated map displayed within the eating area, allowing the customer to see where the food is sourced. Supporting the local design community we commissioned illustrators, furniture makers and lighting designers. The materials for the interior were from locally sourced with re-claimed scaffolding poles and boards used to create the bespoke furniture. This coffee shop seating is located in the centre of the retail area where customers are surrounded by local products. The use of stencilling to the floor points to the local landmarks and attractions with the purpose of encouraging customers to purchase a hamper before going off to explore.
