Location: St. Michaels Mount, Cornwall
Located within the island’s old sail loft above the harbour, the existing cafe was given a complete new look. We were asked to design a more authentic and honest experience for customers visiting the island. A scheme in keeping with the buildings history, utilising the natural elements of the structure. Firstly we planned the space to create a new layout, repositioned the service counter and rationalised the seating. This important exercise allowed the interior to flow more effectively.
The fabric of the building was deliberately exposed and character oak tables and black chairs complimented the cool blues and whites of the unique historic island setting.
