Entrusted with the task of crafting an environment for a novel afternoon tea experience, we undertook a redesign of the first-floor space, offering panoramic views of the historical harbour. Originally an exposed stone sail loft, our interior design aimed to mirror the innovative new menu inspired by the abundance of fresh Cornish produce, including ingredients cultivated and harvested on the island.
Using the existing architectural features, we revealed the timber ceilings and expansive picture windows to enhance the interior’s brightness and spaciousness. Our design seamlessly blends the building’s nautical heritage with a botanical aesthetic. The colour palette draws inspiration from the adjacent gardens and the locally sourced Cornish produce, with numerous producers situated in the vicinity of Mount’s Bay.
