Working closely with the architects, we re-designed the interior and exterior of this well established hotel hideaway located on the Cornish south coast. The existing hotel had a well established reputation for being a quality boutique destination offering a welcoming, relaxed retreat for couples. The brief was to create a design that complimented the existing calm, homely, and lived in feel, whilst at the same time forging a new contemporary style and identity. It was important to acknowledge the local surroundings and the client was mindful of not producing “another coastal hotel”.
The colour palette and materials were a major factor in helping us achieve a friendly and harmonious design resulting in more evolution than revolution.
